These are our lightest and stiffest Performance wheels, aimed at the highest level of riders riding high-performance XC bikes.

FRONT AND REAR SPECIFIC

Each wheel serves a different purpose and therefore withstands different forces. At OQUO, we apply specific front and rear designs to our wheels, which means taking the time to consider rim profiles, spokes, and build specifications to maximize performance. This means more work, but the benefits are clear.

OQUO HUB

By designing our hubs and rims to work in unison, we can create stronger, lighter models where forces are distributed more evenly across all the spokes. Our hubs use the latest DT SWISS internals with the RATCHET EXP system and larger bearings, offering optimal reliability and performance.

ASYMMETRIC RIMS

Asymmetric rims allow us to balance spoke length and tension. In short, this means fewer spoke sizes, more balanced tensions, and stronger, more reliable wheels.

DIRECTED SPOKE HOLES

By matching the angle of the spoke hole to the angle at which the spoke exits the rim, we can significantly reduce the stress on the spoke nipple. Although this technology requires additional design and manufacturing work, the result is a much more reliable wheel with less chance of spoke breakage.

RIM PROTECTION

On tubeless wheels, when the tire is pinched between a foreign object and the rim sidewall, cuts can occur. By increasing the rim profile width in these areas, we significantly reduce the likelihood of these typical punctures.

REINFORCED SPOKE HOLES

This is one of the most stressed areas of the rim. Reinforcing these areas increases rim reliability without adding excessive weight.

STRAIGHT PULL SPOKES

Locating the spokes close to the wheel's axis of rotation optimizes power transmission, reducing mechanical losses and improving the transfer of force to the wheel, which is key in cross-country riding. By creating a hub design for straight-pull spokes, we achieve exactly that.

ANTI-ROTATION HOLES

T-shaped spoke heads prevent the spoke from twisting and loosening, giving a more reliable wheel with all the advantages of a J-Bend system. It also combines the power transfer and aesthetics of a straight pull.

SECURE NIPPLE LOCK

We apply a threadlocker to each nipple separately. This liquid creates greater friction between the threaded portion of the spoke and the nipple, eliminating the air between them. This ensures the spoke does not lose tension and allows for adjustments if necessary.

SAME SPOKE LENGTH

By developing our hub to fit our rims perfectly, we are able to achieve a uniform spoke length on both sides of the wheel. The result is a stronger wheel with greater balance tension.

HOOKLESS RIMS

Hookless rims have straight sidewalls, rather than a hooked design. The main advantage is their reduced weight, but we've also measured a significant improvement in impact resistance thanks to our Wide Bead design.
